The voters of Massachusetts sent a clear message but it was message BOTH parties should heed, voter will decide the direction the country takes and you ignore the American Public at your own Peril.
That is precisely what Obama and the leftist/socialist wing of Democratic Partly did. The American public in poll after polls said, it is about JOBS, it is about the economy stupid and Obama, Pelosi, and Reid the holy trinity of Liberalism spent what they perceived as political capital and blew it!
Note to Obama and his staff: The bumper stickers are off the Prius, the Rose-colored Glasses are Broken and America has returned to common sense. Moderate Americans of BOTH parties and Independents basically said enough is enough. Socialistic Agendas are not what the American public wants nor is it what we voted for!
Obama may actually have to do something he has failed to do in his first year, try to govern, not run roughshod over the American Public. If Pelosi and Reid think they can use some trick to force Healthcare reform a 1900 plus pages of kickbacks, entitlements and outright bribes down the throat of the American Public they are making a serious mistake. I would imagine a whole bunch of Moderates Democrats and even a few liberals may have noticed what happened tonight and NOT supporting the Obama agenda just got a whole lot easier!
Anyone up for re-election who would participate with them in this should now know they can count their political future over. The American Public is "result driven". We type something into a Google Search we get an answer, we pay our bills electronically we get an instant receipt. Americans are patient to a point and terribly naïve. It has taken a majority of Americans to figure out what I, as a Moderate Democrat knew all along from day one, Obama is a fraud, a Socialist masquerading as a Democrat. I hate to say I told you so but I did over and over again right here on Newsvine.
Conservatives should not read too much into this victory either. This election was decided by Moderates of both parties and Independents, not Conservative, not Liberals, and certainly not the media who fed us the Obama propaganda for the last year, not realizing we are smarter than they give us credit for.
It is Ironic that Ted Kennedy who gave the super-delegates to Obama when Clinton was the better choice to lead the Democratic Party, (likely would have won the election and somehow I don't think we would be in this mess right now), has his Senate seat occupied by a Republican.
Moderates of BOTH parties need to take stock in what this election tells us America governs best from the middle. I hope Moderate Democrats take charge of the situation and I hope Moderate Republicans do the same and try to build a consensus, because we have 10 percent unemployment (17 if you count the underemployed and those who simply quit looking). People are losing their homes every day and we need some common sense.
Obama's press releases like to use the word "UNEXPECTEDLY". Unemployment was "UNEXPECTEDLY" higher, GDP was "UNEXPECTEDLY" lower, foreclosures "UNEXPECTEDLY" rose. Hopefully the "Cult of Obama" is over, maybe his ego went down a notch and maybe, just maybe, he might try to listen to the American Public. One thing is sure, if he doesn't, he is lame duck president, a one term wonder, a modern day Jimmy Carter. Its not UNEXPECTED if you live in the REAL WORLD!
